Re-opening as Almanac Hotel in 2021
Built in 1932 the hotel Alcron, restored by the famous designer Maria Vafiadis, has always been at the centre of the city’s cultural scene. Architect and young visionary, Alois Krofta wanted to create a hotel in Prague that would compete with the most splendid properties in Europe.
The prime location puts you close to Prague’s most compelling sites and attractions including the Old Town Square, Charles Bridge, Wenceslas Square and Prague Castle. It soon became the preferred destination of statesmen, politicians and artists. Adding to its historical significance, several influential characters including Charlie Chaplin and Winston Churchill stayed before the war.
The hotel boasts 204 rooms within 75 deluxe rooms and 25 suites. In 2021 it will have a complete refurbishment to reflect the city’s admirable Art Deco scene but with a fresh and modern touch raising it to the standards of Almanac Hotels.
Two award-winning restaurants Alcron and La Rotonde, the famous Be Bop Lobby Bar are favourites with the local community and continue to draw the interest of hotel guests and international travellers.
The addition of a new spa will elevate the quality of the hotel within a five-star status while adding a desirable amenity for hotel guests.
