Isle Of Eriska Hotel & Spa
Oban, Scotland
There’s a certain magic about staying on a private island. Located on the west coast of Scotland, the island boasts gorgeous views overlooking Loch Linnhe and the dramatic Morvern mountains beyond. Our 300-acre island offers a truly unique and memorable experience. Highland cattle graze, badgers visit, grey seals and otters swim in the surrounding water and countless birds, including the golden eagle, can be spied soaring overhead. The hotel experience delivers unique levels of personal service, with decor blending the traditional with the contemporary.
The public rooms at Eriska exude comfort and the warmth of hospitality you would expect from a house of this era and yet do not over formalise the areas. Open fireplaces dominate the ground floor, none more so than in the hall where the fire burns constantly every day of the year. The main hall was wood panelled in 1913 with Burr Oak to conceal the new wiring in the hotel. The Piano room is the first room entered from the front door and is light and bright as is the drawing room which has soft bright furnishing and sofas and chairs which would tempt any visitor to simply relax and set their mind at ease. The Library has changed minimally since the turn of the century with an art deco fireplace with very risqué, in those days, figurines dressing the edges of the fireplace and a wonderful selection of whiskies, cocktails and house wines available throughout the day.
